To activate an EA license key in MT5, tick Allow DLL imports in Tools → Options → Expert Advisors, attach the EA to its chart, and paste the key into the EA's License Key input. Keep LicenseServerHost as www.licensemyea.com and the port at 443. The key binds to the first MT5 account it activates on.
What do you need before you start?
- MetaTrader 5, logged in to the trading account you registered.
- The EA file (
.ex5) and your license key, both sent in the Telegram chat. - An internet connection, because the EA checks the key with the license server.
How do you activate the license key, step by step?
- Install the EA. In MT5 click File → Open Data Folder, open MQL5 → Experts, and paste the
.ex5file there. Back in MT5, right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and choose Refresh. - Allow DLL imports. Open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and tick Allow algorithmic trading and Allow DLL imports. The license check needs DLL access to reach the license server.
- Attach the EA to the chart its guide names, for example an XAUUSD M15 chart for Oracle Gold.
- Common tab: tick Allow Algo Trading and Allow DLL imports again for this EA.
- Inputs tab: paste your key into License Key, exactly, with no spaces. Check that LicenseServerHost reads
www.licensemyea.comand LicenseServerPort reads 443. - Click OK. The EA icon in the top-right corner of the chart turns blue, and the Algo Trading button is green.
Which account does the key bind to?
The key binds to the first MT5 account number it activates on. Each key from Illuminati Forex works on one account. If you open a new account or switch brokers, message support before you move the EA, and the key is moved for you.
The EA also re-checks the license every 24 hours while it runs, so keep MT5 connected to the internet, ideally on a VPS.
What do the license error messages mean, and how do you fix them?
Messages appear as a pop-up and in the Toolbox → Experts tab.
| Message | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| License key required. Enter it in EA inputs. | The License Key input is empty. | Paste your key into License Key. |
| License server host required. | LicenseServerHost is empty. | Type www.licensemyea.com: hostname only, no https://, no slash. |
| Cannot reach license server. | MT5 could not contact the server. | Tick Allow DLL imports, check the internet connection, and remove https:// from the host. |
| Invalid or non-existent license key. | The key is mistyped or disabled. | Copy it again from the chat, or contact support. |
| Account limit reached for this license. | The key is already bound to another account. | Contact support to move it. |
| This account is not authorized. | The account is not the one the key belongs to. | Use the registered account, or contact support. |

| License recheck failed. | The daily re-check could not confirm the key. | Check the internet connection and the inputs, then re-attach the EA. |
Can you backtest without a license key?
Yes. The license check does not run inside the MT5 Strategy Tester, so you can backtest the EA before entering a key. A key is only needed on a live or demo chart.
Questions, illuminated
Where do I enter the license key in MT5?
In the EA's settings window, on the Inputs tab, in the field called License Key. The window opens when you attach the EA to a chart, or later by right-clicking the chart and choosing Expert Advisors, then Properties.
Why does the EA need DLL imports?
The license check contacts the license server through Windows networking functions, which MT5 only allows when DLL imports are enabled.
Can I use one key on two accounts?
No. Each key works on one MT5 account. Contact support to move it to a different account.
I lost my license key. What do I do?
Scroll up in the Telegram chat where the EA was delivered, or message support in the same chat to have it sent again.
The bottom line
Activation takes two settings and one paste: allow DLL imports, attach the EA, and put the key in License Key with the server left at www.licensemyea.com. If something goes wrong, the exact error message in the Experts tab tells you which of those three steps to fix.
